We headed out early, eating our breakfast on the go. I stopped by Arcadia's shop to make a few potions for our trip, and to sell her a few that we couldn't use. Her shop was still closed, so I cast some illusion spells on the townsfolk and guards until it was time for her to open. Thankfully no one seemed to mind.
We left town and headed out to the carriage. The driver, a man named Bjorlam, asked if we needed a ride and where we wanted to go. It cost fifty septims to get to Winterhold, but we were on our way at last! I decided to take a nap in the carriage in case we got there late in the evening.
Jenassa woke me up when we got to Winterhold. It was cold and snowing, and seemed very desolate. It was also dark, and well past sunset. Most of the buildings I could see were just ruins. I was about to ask someone what had happened here, then I heard something loud overhead. The dragon shrieked and circled the town a few times, but didn't attack. I was very thankful for that, since this town seemed to already have enough trouble. Since it was so late, I decided to stay at the inn tonight and find the college in the morning, if it was still there. The snow was too bad to see much in the dark.
Everyone in the inn was friendly, and apologized for the state of the town. They also told me that most of their business came from visitors to the college, which was north of town. I got ready for bed, excited about going to the college tomorrow.
